So I've been having a hard time updating the blog because the Internet connection in the hotel room is pretty bad but I am going to try to update the blog through the phone. We'll see how well this works. And since I can't see the pictures while I type these posts might be a little disjointed. I usually use the pictures to guide the story. Which also means I'm going to theme these entries by place instead of day so they won't be in chronological order either.
All that said we got into Johnson City, TN on Monday night. On Tuesday Scott went into work while Chance and I wondered around town. Wed, Thurs and Friday we had the car while Scott was working so we were able to venture farther from the hotel.
One of the places we've been to twice now is Steele Creek Park. It is in a beautiful area on Steele Creek in Bristol, TN Scott is working across town in Bristol, VA so the first time we went to this park we were waiting for Scott to call us to pick him up. I wasn't sure where to park so Chance and I had a nice stroll through the park to reach the playground and water.
The park is full of trees and flowers in bloom with beautiful mountains in the background so our walk in the park was a pleasant one. Chance had a good time running around to get his energy out and playing on the playground.
We never made it to the water on our first trip so the second time we went straight to the water. Scott was able to come with us this time and since I knew where to go we were able to get right down to the water right away. Where we walked on some small railroad tracks (they must have a train that runs on the weekend or maybe the summer) then sat by the water and threw in rocks. After a while we walked around a little more, played on the playground for good measure then left to get some dinner then go back to the hotel.
p.s. in the first one Chance didn't want me to take his picture but the background was so beautiful he makes a good contrast.
