Here are our first exploits of Chance for our own pleasure. I am sure there are many more to follow but we had to sneak a couple in this Christmas. He didn't seem to mind and so we had fun with a gift bag Kristy gave me and a bow on his head while Scott held him. I tried to get him in the stocking but he squirmed around too much. That's ok there is always next year.
Chance is one week old today! He is doing great! We had his one week checkup today and he has gained 1 oz. At least I know he is getting enough to eat!

The Pediatrician checked him all out and he was actually very good even though we had to strip him down and she poked him and prodded him. He only cried a little. She said he was perfect (just as we suspected). She also had to shine a light in his eyes to check them and that is when I saw his eyes have a beautiful grey blue color. I haven't been able to get a good picture of them yet but soon we will.

He's just the most beautiful little thing. He is sleeping now and of course I should be too but alas I am not. Maybe next nap I will nap too.

Hello to everyone and welcome to our new family blog. I started this
journal as a way to keep in touch with friends and family and so you all can
follow the developments of our new little family.

We would like to welcome

Chance Warren Wunnenberg Nielsen

He was born December 21st 2006
7 lbs 9 oz
22 inches long

He is, of course, a beautiful baby. We went into the hospital at 5:15
pm on Wed and he was born at 9:45 am on Thursday morning. There was only
about fifteen minutes of pushing. He didn't cry very much at all and he
latched on perfect for breastfeeding the very first time. We came home
from the hospital on Friday a whole day early because we were both doing so
well.

Chance passed every test and the Pediatrician said he was “perfect,
just perfect.”

This last picture was taken his first day home.

He is doing so well, he is not a fussy baby at all. Right now he is
sleeping in his car seat. He seems to like it for naps.
