Making Pizza

Chance adding sauce to his pizza
Last week we had a all new and super fun playdate at The Pizza Shoppe. Each kid got to make their very own pizza adding the sauce, cheese and pepperoni themselves. They each received a chef hat too. Chance really enjoyed adding all the toppings and even ate his whole pizza without scraping off any of the toppings which is what he normally does. The pizza was pretty tasty too. I think we'll be doing this again soon.

First Dentist Appointment

Last week Chance had his first dentist appointment. He went to the same dentist that Scott and i go to and he was such a good boy. He listened to everything the dental hygienist said and was great at following direction. In the picture you can see he is wearing a headset so he can listen to the tv on the wall but after a while he wanted to take them off so he could hear what we were saying. The dentist said he might be grinding his teeth but I haven't heard him doing it of course I did it myself when I was little so it's possible he is doing it at night. Otherwise his teeth are looking great!

Stomp Pedal

We play music all the time and recently Chance has been really interested in joining in. Not too long ago Scott put Chance in charge of the stomp pedal that controls the effects for the guitar. Chance had a great time changing the effects then stomping to hear the change.

4 year checkup

Chance playing with a toy in the exam room

Today we went to Chance's 4 year checkup. At first he didn't want to go saying he wasn't sick, but when we got there he totally changed his mind. He was having fun playing with the toys in the lobby and when it was our turn to go in, he was happy because he remembered what we were going to do next. He did everything the nurse asked him to, standing on the scale and putting his feet back against the wall so she could see how tall he is. He weighs 43 pounds and is 43 1/2 inches tall. Putting him between the 90th and 95th percentile for height and weight. We had to wait a long time after they moved us to our exam room before the Doctor came. I tried to get some good pictures but he was so busy looking and playing and moving around that most of them are blurry.
The Doctor we have been seeing since Chance was born had moved away this past year. We all liked her very much and I was a little concerned about seeing someone we had never seen before but turns out the Doctor they assigned to us, we had seen before. Dr. Alchediak was the Doctor on duty at the hospital when Chance was born. He is the one who first examined him and came in just a few hours after his birth to tell us that he was perfectly healthy and was the tallest baby in the nursery. I remember him being very thorough and nice and he was no different today.
Chance passed with flying colors he answered all the Dr.'s questions even counted to ten without asking when the Dr asked me if he could do it he can count much farther than that, and name at least 4 colors (again he knows way more) and draw a circle (he can draw a triangle and quadrangle too). The Dr. was impressed when he could recognize a hexagon and read some words already. Of course he checked his eyes, ears, mouth and everything else which all checked out fine as well.
He had to get two shots which made him cry for just a minute each but now he doesn't have to get any more until 2017!
On the way home we got a kids meal from taco bell for being such a good boy at the Dr. and when we got home he took an extra long nap. Now he says one of his arms hurts where he got the shot, we put a bandaid on it and even though I am sure it will be better tomorrow I feel bad for him because he was such a good boy and now his arms still hurts.
Oh well, I am just happy that he is healthy and smart, well mannered and strong.
